Can I Reinstall a Deleted eSIM?
The Short Answer
Once you delete an eSIM from your device, it cannot be reinstalled from the same QR code. The QR code is consumed during the original installation, and the vendor does not support re-downloading a deleted profile.
We know this is stressful, especially if you deleted the eSIM by accident or you're mid-trip and need your data back. Here's what you can do.
What Happens When You Delete an eSIM
When you remove an eSIM profile from your phone, the profile is erased from the device. Your data plan still exists on the server side -- your remaining data balance and validity period are not affected by deleting the profile from your phone.
However, the QR code you originally used to install the eSIM is single-use. Once the profile has been downloaded to a device, that QR code cannot be used again -- even on the same device.
What to Do If You Deleted Your eSIM
- Contact Only eSIM support immediately at onlyesim.com -- include your order number and explain what happened
- We'll check your plan status -- if you still have data and validity remaining, we can investigate options including issuing a new eSIM
- If a new eSIM is issued, you'll receive a new QR code to install on your device
The sooner you reach out, the more options we have to help. Don't wait.
How to Prevent This in the Future
A few habits that will save you headaches:
- Don't delete your eSIM unless the plan is fully expired or used up. If you just want to stop using it temporarily, disable the line instead of removing it entirely.
- Disable instead of delete. On iPhone, go to Settings > Cellular, tap the eSIM, and toggle off "Turn On This Line." On Android, you can disable the SIM without removing it. This keeps the profile on your device without it being active.
- Never delete your purchase confirmation email. Keep it for your records -- it contains your order details and plan information.
- Screenshot your QR code and save it somewhere accessible. While the QR code can't be reused after deletion, having it on record helps our support team locate your order quickly.
